SC Hospitality Employee Relief Application

The SC Hospitality Employee Relief COVID19 Fund was created to help South Carolina hospitality industry employees experiencing hardship in the wake of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak. Through this Fund, grants will be made to industry employees who have demonstrated being financially impacted by COVID-19, whether through a decrease in wages or loss of employment. A South Carolina resident that is an employee of a South Carolina restaurant or hotel facing significant financial hardship due to a lay-off, furlough or reduction in hours as a direct result of the Coronavirus Pandemic COVID19.

Funds will be available for restaurant and lodging employees who can demonstrate that the following:

Worked on a part- or full-time basis in a restaurant or hotel for at least 90 days in the past year; and
Have had a primary source of income from the hospitality industry for the last year; and
Have experienced a decrease in wages or loss of job on or after March 10, 2020; and
Lives and works in South Carolina; and
Are over the age of 18

Our one-time grants are intended to help offset short-term COVID-19 related financial hardships, such as paying any of the following expenses:

Home rent or mortgage
Car payments or transportation costs
Utility bills
Student loan payments
Childcare
Groceries
Medical bills

Individuals related to employees or board members of the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association are not eligible for grants from this Fund.

What date of the week you certify?
You have from Wednesday to Friday to certify the previous week.

Why the system is not giving the option to certify weekly benefits
This is an individual issue, every employee needs to call 1-866-831-1724 / 1-803-737-2400

What happens if employee clicked on "Reactivate my unemployment account"?
This means the employee has taken the claim upon themselves as if they are filing directly; to reverse it to employer filed claim, they need to call 1-866-831-17241 / 1-803-737-2400.

Why the system is telling me to do job searches?
Just click acknowledge, and continue. The system wants you to be aware that you will need to do job searches after the COVID19 crisis is over.

Why my SS is still showing as a pending issue?
The whole country is using one hub to verify Identity, the SSA, you need to be patient and wait your turn.
